BTS legal
Terms of use
These terms govern use of Basit Transport Services apps, website and delivery network in Ghana. By creating an account or booking a job you agree to them. They sit alongside the Privacy policy. They are written to match how the platform actually works — server-priced fares, vetted riders, OTP handover — and should be reviewed by counsel before you rely on them in a dispute.

- Controller
- Basit Transport Services
The agreement
EveryoneBasit Transport Services (“BTS”, “we”, “us”) of AK - 772 - 2979, Emena Boadi, Kumasi, Ghana operates a marketplace: customers and vendors request delivery; independent riders perform it; BTS prices the job, matches a verified rider, and records proof.
You must be able to enter a contract under Ghanaian law and use a phone number you control. Businesses must have authority to bind the organisation.
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Ghana. Accra or Kumasi courts have jurisdiction, without limiting either party’s right to seek urgent relief.
The platform
Everyone- BTS is not a public carrier of last resort. We may refuse, cancel or reassign a job that is unsafe, illegal, or outside the machine’s capacity.
- Coverage is city by city. If we do not operate your route yet, the app will say so.
- Prices, commissions and cash caps are set in the operations console and applied by the server. What you are shown before confirm is what the ledger will use, unless the quote expired and you were asked to accept a new one.
- We may suspend an account for unpaid cash, KYC failure, fraud, abuse of staff or riders, or prohibited goods.
Customers
CustomersBooking
You set pickup and drop-off, choose parcel, document or errand, and pick a machine. You see the full fare before you confirm. Once a rider is assigned, cancellation may attract the fee shown in the app.
Your load
- You promise the goods match the description, fit the machine, and are legal to move in Ghana.
- Prohibited: weapons, explosives, illegal drugs, unlicensed wildlife, and anything the rider cannot legally carry.
- Documents should be sealed. Cash and jewellery travel at your risk unless we have agreed otherwise in writing.
- Errands: the rider may buy on your behalf with BTS float. You pay the receipt plus the delivery fare. We can refuse purchases that look fraudulent or under-age.
Payment and handover
- Pay by Mobile Money (Paystack) or cash on delivery where offered.
- The receiver must give the rider the four-digit delivery OTP. No code, no completion. A proof photo is attached to the order.
- If you share the OTP before the rider arrives, you accept the risk that someone else collects the goods.
- Complaints about damage or shortage should come with the order ID, as soon as you reasonably can.
Riders
RidersStatus
You are an independent contractor, not an employee of BTS. You provide your own machine, fuel, data and insurance. BTS provides the app, dispatch, pricing and MoMo settlement.
Going online
- You may only work after staff approve your onboarding (Ghana Card, licence, insurance, vehicle, MoMo in your name, emergency contact).
- Keep documents valid. We can take you offline when a document expires.
- Accept jobs you can complete. Repeated no-shows or OTP-skipping can end the account.
- Follow the four-step flow in the app. Do not mark delivered without the receiver’s OTP.
- Location sharing while online is required for dispatch and customer tracking. Turn offline when you stop work — we will not track you off-duty.
Money
- Each job shows fare, commission and your share. Commission is not hidden in the fine print of a later statement.
- Earnings settle to the MoMo wallet in your name. You cannot silently point payouts at another number.
- Cash on delivery is allowed up to the cap in force. Remit BTS’s share on time. Errand float is a loan against the receipt, not a wage.
- You are responsible for your own taxes.
Conduct
When you arrive for a business job, you represent that business’s brand. Follow handling notes. Do not harass customers. Do not carry prohibited items. Emergency contact is on file for a reason — use in-app support if you are in trouble on a job.
Vendors
VendorsThe Vendor app is for booking from a counter. You confirm the rider collected the order; the customer confirms receipt with OTP.
- Keep your pickup pin, hours and contact current so riders do not wait on a closed shop.
- Pack goods as described. Wrong machine, leaking bags or undeclared restricted items can be rejected on the spot.
- You authorise BTS to collect the fare according to the quote and to settle your share to the payout details on file.
- Staff you allow on the account act for you. Remove them when they leave.
Business partners
BusinessIf we carry for your brand, the customer’s experience belongs to you. Riders follow your handling and handover instructions when you attach them to the order.
- A named account contact, volume pricing where agreed, and weekly settlement statements.
- Every order has an immutable timeline, OTP result and proof photo you can show your customer.
- You still need the customer (or your staff) to complete OTP at the door unless we have agreed a signature-only exception in writing.
- Confidential pricing and customer lists you share with us stay in the account. We will not use them to pitch a competitor.
- Either party can end the partnership on notice in the contract; in-flight orders should still be closed out.
Liability and prohibited use
Everyone- BTS is not liable for delay caused by weather, traffic, network failure, or a customer who will not share the OTP.
- Declared value and insurance, if any, are as shown at booking or in a business contract. Undeclared high-value goods travel at the sender’s risk.
- Do not probe, scrape or reverse the API to recompute fares, bypass OTP, or harvest rider locations. Location feeds exist for the job, not for surveillance.
- Do not create multiple accounts to evade a ban, cash cap or KYC decision.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that Ghanaian law does not allow us to limit, including fraud or personal injury caused by our negligence.
Ending the account
Everyone- You may stop using the apps at any time. Write to support to request deletion after money on the account is settled.
- We may suspend immediately where safety, fraud or unpaid remittance is involved, then explain.
- Clauses that should survive (ledger, KYC retention, outstanding cash, confidentiality) survive.
